Most real estate investors are able to obtain three to five properties. It's after than where it becomes a little tricky.
As of today, we have about 20 properties. This includes six properties in partnerships.
The properties are located in Barrie, Orangeville, Woodstock, Burlington, Ancaster and Hamilton.
I believe you don't need to live close to your properties but need good tenants. The location is important but more important is your objectives. Are you going to be a buy and hold or is your goal to turn over the properties every few years. Perhaps its a combination.
The reason why my properties are scattered was mainly because of opportunity at the time.
